A promising career opportunity exists with a dynamic agribusiness in the Vyeboom area near Villiersdorp for an ERP Systems Administrator who and has a hands-on approach. The ERP System used is called FarmTrace and has the following applications:

Farm operations

  • Workshop Tasking
  • Fertigation Tasking
  • Fertilizer Tasking
  • Irrigation
  • Scouting
  • Inspections

Human Resource and Harvesting

  • Time and Attendance
  • Disciplinaries
  • Leave Management
  • Time Sheets
  • Payroll Staff import / export
  • Piecework

This position will report to the Information Officer and the main function of this position is to drive and support the farm trace implementation and ensure relevant data integrity.

You would be the ideal candidate if you have the following qualifications, experience, and key competencies:

Qualification

  • · Grade 12 with Information Technology or CAT

Knowledge and Experience

  • Computer literate in MS Office
  • 3 years’ experience in user support
  • Experience in administrating software systems
  • Experience in Information Technology
  • Knowledge of an ERP system
  • Conceptual knowledge of databases would be advantageous
  • Knowledge of agricultural operations will be advantageous

Key Competencies

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Ability to solve problems by analytical analysis of data problems
  • Ability to resolve problems by identifying the source
  • Ability to train users on the ERP platform
  • Keen attention to detail
  • Well-developed planning and coordinating skills
  • Demonstrates the required technical IT knowledge to support the      FarmTrace ERP system

Duties and Responsibilities

Drive Farm Trace Implementation

  • Assist business users to set up SOP’s
  • Determine hardware requirements
  • Setting up of mobile devices as required
  • Liaise with business users to set up physical infrastructure (E.g., Barcoded plates)

Support farm trace operations

  • Assist with training
  • Assist with devices, system, network, mobile data on the devices
  • Support business users with Farm Trace issues and corrections daily
  • Ensure the infield systems are running correctly.
  • Proactively engage with business users to ensure that business processes are aligned with farm trace  requirements
  • Conduct regular meetings with management to identify problem areas

Ensure data integrity

  • Regularly review the reports to ensure they correctly reflect business operations
  • Oversee the clerks to ensure data has been adequately corrected

Liaison with Farm Trace

  • Handle simple operational day to day issues that need FarmTrace attention
  • Resolve Log on and user issues
  • Manage user licences
