A challenging and exciting career opportunity exists for a Housing Manager within a dynamic and fastgrowing company in the fruit/packing industry. We are situated in Vyeboom, Western Cape.
This position is responsible for ensuring high living standards of Chiltern employees and creating a
harmonious living environment whilst optimally utilizing and overseeing maintenance of Farming assets.
The position reports to the Business Support Manager with a team reporting to this role.
Summary
Key Performance Areas
- Coordinate on-farm accommodation, handle disputes, and report security threats.
- Liaison for all housing-related enquiries in collaboration with management and stakeholders.
- Oversee eviction processes and serve as liaison in legal matters relating to housing.
- Conduct maintenance inspections, coordinate repairs, and handle contingency plans during unforeseen events.
- Oversee alien vegetation clearance, waste removal, and firewood supply and costs.
- Manage entertainment facilities, including bar sales and stock management.
- Establish and coordinate the housing committee and train residents on housing standards.
- Record stock items, submit purchase orders, and stay updated on legislative changes.

Role Requirements & Competencies
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in housing & ground management, preferably in agriculture
- Proven experience managing accommodation and diverse teams
- Knowledge of labour laws, ESTA Act, and security procedures are advantageous
- Proficiency in Xhosa and English is highly advantageous.
- Computer Literacy (Word; Excel; PowerPoint & Outlook) imperative
- Strong organisational, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Ability to build collaborative working relationships and provide excellent customer service
- Capable of managing multiple facilities and working under pressure
- Strong leadership and team management abilities
